Jody Orrison
Jody holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, with a vocal emphasis, from Truman State University, Kirksville, Missouri. She received her K-12 music teaching certification from Central Missouri State University, where she was also a graduate student and received Kodaly certification. She taught in public schools for over six years in Missouri, Vermont and New Hampshire, where she created award-winning vocal/general music programs. Locally, Jody has led the adult choir at Our Lady of the Assumption, and was the Director of Music for Children and Youth at Claremont Presbyterian Church for seven years. She also taught at the Webb Schools and Pre-K-5th grade general music at Foothill Country Day School. She is currently the director of the Inland Valley Youth Chorale (founder and director since 2002), a non-profit organization for children's choirs, and continues to teaches private voice through CCSM and piano instruction from her home. She is expecting her third child. She is married to Michael and is the mother of two other wonderful children. In her spare time she loves reading, scrapbooking and performing with community musical theatre. Although musical theatre has been a relatively late addition to her musical career, she has enjoyed several lead roles. More recently Jody performed in "The Sound of Music" at the Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont and with RCCT in "Side by Side by Sonheim" at Victoria Gardens.
