The Christina Linton Voice Studio welcomes adults and children of all levels.
Christina Marie Linton, soprano, began musical studies at the age of two, when she asked her parents for violin lessons. Eventually she traded violin for voice, earning her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Lawrence University. Ms. Linton continued her professional vocal studies at the Bel Canto Institute in Italy, and coached privately with many master teachers including Carol Vaness, Jane Bakken Klaviter, Gwendolyn Lytle, and Roger Malouf. Christina has performed leading roles with Repertory Opera Company, Center Stage Opera, Opera Pasadena, Goldenwest Opera Theatre, New Valley Symphony Orchestra, and at The Florence International Music Festival, Alex Theatre, Sierra Madre Playhouse, Music at Westwood Concert Series, and the Music Teachers National Association Conference Exhibition.
Christina is widely recognized as a vocal music performance and pedagogic expert, with professional singers, actors, and collegiate voice instructors seeking her advice on technique and repertoire. As the chair of the voice department at CCSM, she enjoys teaching all levels of voice students from beginning students all the way to professional singers from most genres including: opera, rock, musical theatre, folk, early music, art song and pop.
Adult students should expect a dramatic increase in range, breath control, and the overall beauty and quality of the voice. Results will begin to appear in the very first lesson.
Children deserve the highest quality voice instruction, with an emphasis on healthy, confident, and beautiful singing throughout the entire range. Children will learn to read music while exploring many styles and genres of vocal music.
Making good use of her professional contacts, Christina often obtains unique performing opportunities for her more advanced students. In 2010 alone, Christina hand selected 5 students for lead roles with local opera companies, assembled 3 complete opera choruses, and chose 5 singing fashion models for a high profile runway show, just to name a few opportunities.
