Dr. Seth Greenberg

Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Guitar Performance/Music Education, University of the Arts, Philadelphia

 

Originally from the Philadelphia suburb Haverford, Dr. Greenberg began playing the guitar at the age of 12. By 15, he was a protégé of the world-renowned jazz guitarist Jimmy Bruno. After his studies with Bruno ended, he became a protégé of the acclaimed music education-paintist-author Jimmy Amadie. With over 15 years of teaching experience, Dr. Greenberg specializes in teaching many different styles of guitar playing, harmony, theory, and improvisation. Students’ ages range from 4 to 70+ and include beginners up to professional musicians.

 

He joined the CCSM faculty in 2003 and is a professor at San Jacinto Community College.  Dr. Greenberg has nearly 20 years of experience performing professionally. Among those he has performed with are jazz greats such as Ron Anthony, Jennifer Leitham, Frank Tiberi, Arturo Sandoval, and the late Grover Washington, Jr. He has performed on tours across the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Japan.
