The Claremont Community School of Music
is committed to making quality music instruction accessible
to all interested students. Private and corporate donations,
fundraisers, and grants enable us to offer financial aid to
students who demonstrate need. Awards are based on family
income and size and the number of students studying at CCSM.
Assistance ranges from a 10% to 50% reduction in tuition.
Other factors include the number of applicants in a given
cycle, the amount of scholarship funds available, and teacher’s
recommendation (after the 1st year). Only one instrument or
class per student is considered.
The Financial Aid committee includes representatives
from the faculty, staff, and Board of Directors. Recommendations
must receive the approval of the Board of Directors. Awards
do not consider ethnic origin, gender, or religious persuasion.
Typically, awards go to families of four or more with adjusted
gross income under $30,000. Applicants are reviewed at the
beginning of Fall and Summer terms.
